While most clock radios are relegated to the bedside, the Chumby is right at home in any room, be it the bedroom, the kitchen, the office, the living room, or the playroom. But then the Chumby is so much more than a clock radio.
The Chumby is an WiFi internet-capable device that can display the weather forecast, play music, display photo slideshows, display the time, act as an alarm clock, display stocks, social network, display current news and sports, play videos, play games, keep track of online auctions, display webcam video, monitor email, send and receive e-cards, and more. Watch constantly updated info, or use interactive widgets that take advantage of the Chumby’s touchscreen or motion sensor. Chumby has an active community of developers, so that means that your Chumby’s functionality increases daily.

With a Chumby, your music options are almost endless. Tune into the thousands of SHOUTcast free online radios stations from around the world. Or listen to podcasts from distributors such as The New York Times, CBS, and Mediafly on topics ranging from news, sports, comedy, fitness, science, travel, languages, entertainment, and much more. You can also stream music from your Squeezebox device or plug in your iPod or MP3 player into one of the two backside USB ports to play music from that device while it charges. Still need more options? Enter the URL of any internet audio stream (in MP3, M3U, OGG or PLS formats) for even more variety.
Stay current on news from around the world. The Chumby RSS reader allows you pick and choose what news you want to stay informed on. From business, to sports, to technology, to celebrity gossip; the possibilities are endless. Almost every website these days publishes an RSS feed, and the Chumby can put that to use.
Take a break. Play games like BlackJack, Reversi and Sudoku, as well as others such as Tumbler, Cipher, and Chumball. There are two-player games as well that can be play with a friend who has a Chumby. Some games even take advantage of the Chumby’s motion and squeeze sensors.
Chumby has a customizable alarm clock that allows you to set different alarms for weekdays and weekends. You can also choose to wake up to all kinds of different content, from your favorite alarm tone, internet radio station, or podcast, and wake up to the latest entertaining or useful information from the web.
