12 September 2007 @ 8:38iPhone Unlocked Because of a Buffer Overflow

MacApper has revealed in their own iPhone unlocking tutorial that the iPhone unlock is possible because of a buffer overflow exploit. This is an interesting bit of information, and Apple will most assuredly fix this exploit in an upcoming update. We can all argue about the reason why Apple will close this hole, but I will have to say that it will be for security concerns, and the breaking of the many unlocking utilities will simply be a side effect of that.
