26 October 2007 @ 14:59Time Machine Cannot Backup to Wireless Drives

Time MachineAppleInsider is reporting that Leopard does not support backup to Airport Extreme attached drives.

At one point, Apple’s website stated, “With a hard disk connected to your AirPort Extreme Base Station, all the Macs in your house can use Time Machine to back up wirelessly [...] Simply select your AirPort Disk as the backup disk for each computer and the whole family can enjoy the benefits of Time Machine.”

My copy of Leopard has not yet arrived, so I cannot verify this. This is disappointing news. One has to wonder if this was a feature that was not complete before the deadline, and will instead be added in a future update.

Update: from Apple
