In these days of abundant GPS devices, putting directions on your iPod may seem archaic, but for those of us who don’t have a GPS device, it can be very helpful.

First, you will need to enable disk mode on your iPod so that you can save files to it.

Next, optionally create a title for your document with the <title> tag. Example:
<title>Directions to somewhere</title>

Next, you will need to type or paste text into a plain text document. I pasted the text directions from Google Maps into my document.

Save the file, and drag it into the Notes folder of your iPod, and eject your iPod.

Now, on your iPod, navigate to Extras -> Notes and there should be a list of all the notes files that are on your iPod.
