Acer will throw their 8.9-inch Aprire One contender into the subnotebook market. The Aspire One is yet another Atom-based notebook.
The Aspire One can be configured with up to 1GB of RAM and either 8GB of flash storage or an 80GB hard drive as well as a choice between Linpus Linux Lite and Windows XP. Included is 802.11b/g WiFi with the possible option of 3G networking.
The new Aspire one will be available in early Q3 through Acer authorized resellers and selected retailers throughout North America, with pricing beginning at US$379.
