According to the Inquirer, 95 percent of all returned electronics are not broken or defective, but instead are still working. Most returns result from the product not meeting the customer’s expectations, or the customer not reading the manual which explains how to use the product. Less misleading advertising and better instructions and manuals could save the US electronics industry as much as $13.8 billion a year.
