19 June 2008 @ 13:34Be Kind Rewind (2008)
I had the chance to watch Be Kind Rewind last night, and it was a lot of fun.
A man whose brain becomes magnetized unintentionally destroys every tape in his friend’s video store. In order to satisfy the store’s most loyal renter, an aging woman with signs of dementia, the two men set out to remake the lost films.
Be Kind was filled with typical Jack Black style humor, so if you aren’t a big fan of his, you might not like the movie, but you should still give it a chance. I have only seen Mos Def in a couple other movies, but I would say that this was his best so far. Danny Glover did a good job as well, but his recently acquired lisp that I first noticed in Shooter is a bit distracting.
The premise of the movie seemed totally original to me, and that is what hooked me. If you’re ever looking for a movie to lift your mood after a hard day at work, this one is sure to do the trick.
