I approached this movie not expecting anything too great, but I was pleasantly surprised. Felon involves a family man (Dorff) who is convicted of killing an intruder and must learn to cope with life afterward in the violent penal system. I truly felt the futility that Porter must have felt while up against the corrupt prison system. Stephen Dorff turns in an outstanding performance, and Val Kilmer gives us a strong supporting role. Fans of “Lost” will also recognize Harold Perrineau as Lt. Jackson.
I highly recommend this prison drama.
