8 September 2008 @ 16:23Google puts historical newspapers online

Google announced today in their blog, that they have undertaken a project to put historical news archives online.

I gave it a quick test drive myself, and it works quite well. Click-and-drag or scroll to navigate pages. There are also several convenient zoom options, as well as a full-window option. Click on headlines, and link to certain headlines.

Thanks, Google. I could spend way too much time just perusing old newspapers.
