16 December 2008 @ 16:37Apple Announces Its Last Year at Macworld
Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, will deliver the opening keynote for this year’s Macworld Conference & Expo, and it will be Apple’s last keynote at the show. The keynote address will be held at Moscone West on Tuesday, January 6, 2009 at 9:00 a.m. Macworld will be held at San Francisco’s Moscone Center January 5-9, 2009.
Apple is counting on their retail stores to reach their customers and potential customers in ways that trade shows can’t. Although this seems like a sad end to an era, it makes sense. Trade shows like Macworld tend to be geared towards individuals who are already Mac customers. The Apple Retail Stores, on the other hand, are aimed at both potential new customers who want to familiarize themselves with Apple computers as well as existing customers.
