The Gmail team has added a new feature to Gmail which allows you to create a new Google Docs document from any email. This will save you the whole copy-and-paste routine, instead converting your email into a document with a single click.
To enable this feature, go to Settings > Labs > Create a Document > click Enable or just click here.
