6 November 2007 @ 16:25Leopard’s Parental Controls

I am very pleased with Leopard’s Parental Controls. I have already implemented the controls for my own children. The time limits are particularly useful, as it can get tiresome saying, “It’s your bedtime. Get off the computer and go to bed.” Now the child gets a warning at 15 minutes, 10 minutes and 5 minutes that their time is almost up. Hopefully this will help them to better manage their time.

The other aspect of Leopard’s Parental Controls that I am going to find indispensable, is the “Allow Remote Setup” option under the Parental Controls’ action menu. This will not only be invaluable at home for changing the settings, but in a corporate environment as well (particularly in the System tab).
