15 January 2008 @ 16:38The Battle Isn’t Over Yet

If you thought the HD DVD/Blu-Ray battle was over when Warner bros. announced that they would be abandoning HD DVD and moving solely to Blu-Ray, think again.

Yesterday, Toshiba slashed prices on HD DVD players to as low as $149.99 on some models in an attempt to increase the HD DVD customer base and theoretically make it harder for the movie studios to ignore HD DVD.

Many of us can’t wait for one format to triumph over the other, but in the meantime, the competition will drive prices lower to the benefit of the consumer.
