5 March 2008 @ 14:03Ffmpeg on the iPhone
In an interesting, but not entirely useful, development, ffmpeg has been compiled to run on the iPhone and iPod touch. Visit wickedpsyched.net for more details.
While the iPhone is not the most powerful device available to do video conversion, it is sure cool to know that it can be used for such.

If you are here looking for how to use ffmpeg to create videos that will play on your iPhone, here is an example:
ffmpeg -i source.avi -vcodec mpeg4 -b 1800k -me epzs -g 240 -s 640x352 -acodec aac -ab 128 -ac 2 -ar 48000 -title "Title" -f mp4 target.mp4
Note this is not H.264 encoding, just simple MP4.
