11 April 2008 @ 10:59The HP 2133 Mini-Note PC to compete with Eee PC

HP has introduced a formidable competitor to the runaway success Asus Eee PC. HP revealed that the mini-notebook, dubbed Mini-Note PC, would hit the streets later this month at under $500.

The HP 2133 Mini-Note PC weighs in at 2.5 pounds and comes with an 8.9-inch screen (bigger than the Eee’s 7-inch screen and just slightly smaller than the Eee 900′s 9-inch screen) with a resolution of 1280×768. HP is claiming that the full-QWERTY keyboard is just 8 percent smaller than a full-sized desktop keyboard.

The anodized aluminum shell gives the Mini-Note a more professional and less toy-like look and feel compared to many other mini-notebooks currently on the market.

The Mini-Note can be configured with SUSE Linux and a 64GB solid-state drive or Windows XP or Vista with up to 160GB of hard drive.

I wouldn’t mind having one of these.

i WANT my UMPC to have a CF-SSD!
NOT a stupid, fragile, “piston-engine-minded” spinning hard drive!!

Dell, HP, Everex and even ACER all missed the point! Just LOOK at how fast the Eee BOOTS XP with a 8GB CF/SSD, compared to any of them with a mechanical hard disk! HELLO!!! Are you listening you curmudgeoned, OLD, CONSERVATIVE-THINKING FAT-A$$ES? (I know, all THEY saw were the dollar signs. -sigh <:| )
