ASUSteK is reporting that a user by the name of “duck” managed to successfully overclock an Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 965 to 5510.09 MHz (5.5GHz) using an ASUS ROG Rampage II Extreme motherboard which allows for hardware-based overclocking. Acer will add a 10-inch model to their highly popular Aspire One line of netbooks. The expected release date on these larger-screen models is February or March 2009.

Top500 released their November list of supercomputers, and it turns out that IBM’s Roadrunner beat Cray’s XT Jaguar in their Linpack benchmark. The Roadrunner achieved 1105.00 teraflops while the Jaguar achieved a slightly less 1059.00 teraflops.
