Today Apple gave the iMac lineup a nice speed bump with a top end model at 3.06GHz. The new processors include 6MB of L2 cache and a faster 1066MHz front-side bus. 2GB of RAM comes standard in all but the cheapest model.   Check out the new, faster iMacs.

Apple recently bought chipmaker P.A. Semi, possibly as a source of processors for iPods and iPhones, and maybe even Mac laptops.
