5 May 2008 @ 20:31To Prepay or Not

I enjoy the convenience of “pay at the pump”, and it find it so frustrating when either the card reader is broken, or the receipt doesn’t print, requiring me to walk inside and negate the “pay at the pump” convenience. Today I stopped to fill up the tank and noticed this sign (below). What the heck?! I found myself struggling to figure out the conundrum of whether or not this pump was prepay or not.

Prepay

I believe I could have worded this sign a bit better, but I also find it odd that the sign is actually telling cash customers to pay after pumping. I thought the trend was pay-before-pumping, not the other way around.

I hate having to walk in and get my receipt! The clerk is just too lazy to walk out and change the paper, and they often like to say it is broken. It is only broken till a responsible employee changes the paper. Ugh. I was confused too by that crazy sign!
