Apple has posted a handy guide for what to bring when purchasing an iPhone 3G and what to expect. Here is the list:

To purchase and activate iPhone 3G, you need the following:*

* Credit card
* Social security number
* Valid, government-issued photo ID
* Your current wireless account number and password or PIN (if you’re new to AT&T)
