29 July 2008 @ 12:09Dell Studio Hybrid Desktop now available
The new Studio Hybrid is Dell’s new space-saving and environmentally friendly desktop computer. It starts at $499 and is available in six different colors plus a bamboo design.
Dell is touting the Studio Hybrid as being 80% smaller than the typical desktop computer as well as consuming 70% less power. With the Intel Core 2 Duo T8100 Penryn-based processor, the Studio Hybrid has enough processing power for most tasks. Memory capacity tops out at 4GB of Shared Dual Channel DDR2 at 667MHz (2 DIMM), and for storage, the Hybrid can be ordered with up to a 320GB 5400rpm hard drive. Video is processed by the Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 chip, so graphics heavy games may suffer a bit.
The Hybrid can be ordered with either a 8X Slot Load CD / DVD Burner (Dual Layer DVD+/-RW Drive) or a 6X Slot Load Blu-ray Disc Combo (DVD+/-RW & BD-ROM).
External ports include:
Five USB 2.0 compliant ports
IEEE1394a port (4-pin)
HDMI video connector
DVI video connector
Integrated network connector 10/100/1000 LAN (RJ45)
AC adapter connector
Digital Audio: S/P DIF Out
Analog Audio: Headphone (front); Line-in / Line-out (back)
