6 October 2008 @ 20:48Ford MyKey gives parents greater control

As the parent of a teenager, I have to say that Ford’s introduction of their MyKey parental control system would be a greatly welcomed feature.

The MyKey allows parents to limit the vehicle’s top speed as well as limit the audio system’s maximum volume level. Other options can be set such as the inability to disable the traction control system, a speed alert chime at 45mph, 55mph, and 65mph to keep the driver aware of their speed, Beltminder that requires driver and passengers to bucle up in order to unmute the radio, and an early warning fuel level alert.
