7 October 2008 @ 8:585-Second Boot on Eee PC
Have you ever wished your laptop would boot a bit faster? I mean, you can’t even use it for the first half-minute to minute, and it just fells like a waste of precious battery power. Well, two Intel engineers have modified Fedora to boot in five seconds on an ASUS Eee PC with an SSD. A laptop with a hard drive instead of an SSD would take a bit longer to boot, but still only about 10 seconds. Not bad. The engineers also submitted the patch to Moblin.org, which is a Linux platform for mobile devices.
I would love for my Aspire One to boot this fast.
