16 September 2008 @ 12:34HTC Touch 3G

HTC is trying to go head-to-head with the iPhone with their HTC Touch 3G, and honestly, they look to be putting forth a good effort. HTC even uses a tagline very similar to Apple’s iPhone: “This isn’t the web compromised for mobile… it’s the web as you always wanted it be on a mobile.” 2.8-inch touch [...]

12 August 2008 @ 8:48Block that annoying cell phone

Just a thought… …if you are having a difficult time keeping your teen off the cell phone during bedtime hours, and services like AT&T’s Smart Limits don’t work for you, then you might try mounting a 12-meter radius cell phone jammer above the ceiling in your teen’s room and plug it into a lamp timer. ChinaKing has built the world’s first cellphone with a built-in projector capable of projecting a 30-inch 640×480 picture for up to 2 hours. I think I would rather have my proctor separate from my phone. Not to mention that I would rather have a real iPhone than a chunk of electronics with an iPhone-like interface. [via [...]

7 June 2008 @ 17:02AT&T Smart Limits for Wireless - Not so smart

My wife and I added AT&T’s Smart Limits for Wireless to our daughter’s phone last night. After reading about it, and watching the demo, I thought it sounded like a useful feature for my daughter’s phone. Her mom and I were mostly interested in the “Time of day” restrictions for school time and bedtime. We [...]

28 May 2008 @ 7:33Samsung L870 phone to use Safari browser

Samsung’s new L870 Smartphone will feature Apple’s Safari web browser (or possibly just Apple’s WebKit). This will be the first non-Apple phone to use Apple’s own browser. The L870 is scheduled to arrive in Europe in August of this year.
