While looking for a snack over the weekend, I stumbled across some Blue Diamond Wasabi & Soy Sauce Almonds, and decided to give them a try. I have always liked Blue Diamond Smokehouse Almonds, so I figured that this new flavor might also be good. When I popped the first couple of almonds in my mouth, I knew instantly that I liked them. This was not one of those moments when it takes some time to decide whether or not I liked something. The Wasabi & Soy Sauce Almonds were an instant hit.

The solution for me was to edit the .htaccess file in the root directory of my webserver (the directory where Wordpress is installed). Add the following to the the .htaccess file after the “END WordPress”:

If you are having the problem of your .htaccess file losing its changes, you have most likely put something inside the Wordpress block of the .htaccess file. Keep any custom changes outside of that block or they will be overwritten.

My sister-in-law decided that this year she wanted to make a quilt using squares created by her friends and family to commemorate her birthday. Neither sewing nor quilting is my forte, so for my square, I decided I would simply decorate it with fabric markers in a way that would remind her of me.

I started by printing the text onto a sheet of paper and laying the white cloth over the printed paper and tracing lightly with a pencil. After that I used a black Yasutomo FabricMate marker to ink in the design. I had both a fine point marker and a wide chisel tip marker, but found that the fine tip worked best. The chisel tip put out too much ink and would bleed into the fabric excessively.

For the terminal icon, I freehanded that with a black and gray marker.

The iPhone Dev Team has posted a video demonstrating a successful jailbreak of an iPhone with v2.0 firmware with the new Pwnage utility.

Our approach takes full control of the lowest layers of Apple’s device, and allows a much safer kind of jailbreak, that uses Apple’s tried and tested restore mechanism. It will also allow much more when hackers realize all the new possibilities this method opens up and start taking advantage of them.

When It Rains by Paramore:

I must say that it was way too loud and I’m not saying that because I am getting old. It’s not just the volume, but I don’t think the sound was mixed properly. A lot of the vocals could not be picked out from the music. The song above is somewhat of an exception because it was a slower, quieter song.

Phantom Planet opened for Paramore. Here is their hit California. Their is a lot of clipping in this recording due to the loudness. I’m not sure if there is something different I should have done to improve the recording quality. I did have the Autogain turned off, otherwise I think the clipping would have been a lot worse.
