28 July 2008 @ 15:08Cuil tries to rival Google

According to CNN, Ex-Google emplyee, Anna Patterson, has been working on a search alternative to Google called Cuil. Patterson is claiming that Cuil has indexed 120 billion web pages, which is far greater than the 8.2 billion pages Google claimed it had indexed three years ago. Google no longer publishes its number of pages indexed. Patterson believes that Cuil has 3 times more pages indexed than Google does.

In my test searches, Cuil may be able to claim greater quantity, but I believe Google still has superior quality search results.
